Project Goal

SoundSense Glasses
We aim to produce a pair of glasses, or something that can be clipped to glasses, with microphones and LEDs on each side of the head by Monday 21st October 2013.

These will be used for deaf or hard-of-hearing users to be able to see or "sense" the sounds that are directly beside or behind them in each ear.

To account for noise levels being different in certain areas, sensitivity will also be customizable or the glasses can also be turned off.

We're hoping to power the glasses off of watch batteries on each side of the head as well.

To test the project, we will use very powerful ear buds (-29dB sound reduction) to simulate the experience of relying on the LEDs for alerts about loud noises around us.
